While Angus Young continues to throw out sloppy, uninspired garbage that has become his signature over the years, it’s hard to find classic hard rock. Bands that aren’t worried about commercial success and want to instead bring forward the genre and attitude. Luckily, Hammer is dedicated to that premise, one of true distorted power. These guys are everything that AC/DC and Accept fans want more of. A gritty, straight-forward approach has “No Way Out” towering overtop of Black Ice.
Within a single listen songs like “The Hammer” and “Heavy Metal Machine Gun” will jump out at you with that classic 80s feel. The whole album is filled with this same type of classic rock standard and does not disappoint. For a newer group the production is above average, and what it lacks actually adds to the overall feel of the disc. A simple production for a simple type of music makes things easy to digest for the ear. With a disc like this I can’t wait for more these Italians to produce even more!
