Here we have "Marcello-Vestry" which is named after band members Rob Marcello (Danger Danger), and Frank Vestry. Marcello-Vestry play melodic "Hard Rock" in the 80s / early 90s fashion, and they do a hell of a job at it! First thing you'll notice is the fantastic fret work of Rob's playing. Sure this isnt
anything fancy but Rob lays down some monstrous Hard Rockin riffs with some killer solos, and shredding that could compete right up there with the likes of George Lynch (Dokken), and others! Aside from the great dynamic riffs, its all topped off with some fantastic vocal melodies courtesy of Frank Vestry. Great verses, and ultra catchy choruses are laced all over this thing.
Lyrically the songs are just more of the 80s fluff but with music and melodies like this, who cares about the lyrics! This is great feel good "Hard Rock" to crank when you just wanna tap your foot, bob your head, and sing along to the melodies. Production was handled by Bruno Ravel of Danger Danger, and it shows! Really crunchy guitar tones, nice crisp punchy bass, and perfectly mixed vocals.
Musically I would compare these guys to Dokken, Danger Danger, XYZ, etc. Oh, and lets remember you can't have a release like this, without a couple typical power ballads for the ladies! Favorite songs would be "Love Injection", "Without You", and the funky "Gangster Of Love".
All in all if you love the big chorus filled Hard Rock bands of yesteryear, and just want something to rock out too, than make sure you check out Marcello-Vestry. You might also get an appreciation for just how underated Marcello is as a guitarist too!
