Here we have the debut from the 4 piece band Shadowland who come to us from Sweden. Shadowland play melodic metal with progressive touches, and one word sums of this album, and that is "wow". Right away you can tell Shadowland are crafted musicians, and take the music seriously. 10 songs can be found on "Falling", and singer Robert Forse will have fans of
the old Geoff Tate Queensryche era going wild! Robert has the soulful power of a Jorn Lande, yet the higher melodic tone of Geoff Tate. The band consisting of Tobias Andersson (Guitars), Magnus Jönsson (Bass), and Olle Rodehn (Drums) supply a superb high caliber musicianship filled with tight riffs, and wonderful rhythms. What I like best about Shadowland is how they add just enough of a progressive element to show off how
talented they are without going overboard, and never leaving the listener bored. The production is as clear, and crisp as they come, and everything is mixed perfectly. I can't pick a favorite song as there is all killer, and no filler found here!
I cant recommend Shadowland enough. Robert Forse was great in the progressive metal band "Heads Or Tales" so its no surprise he would follow suit here. This debut comes with 10 perfectly crafted songs, that also gets a 10 perfectly crafted rating! If you like your Metal with great melodic vocals, and tight musicianship wrapped up with a well blanced production, than Shadowland is a must for you. Go get this now, and start "Falling" for the brilliance that is Shadowland!
